Sports Therapy

Sports therapy despite the name is a valuable resource for anyone looking to stay active, recover effectively, and perform at their best…both on and off the field.

Sports therapy is a specialised field of therapy that focuses on preventing injury and rehabilitating individuals back to optimal levels of functional, occupational, and sports-specific fitness. Sports therapy can benefit anyone experiencing musculoskeletal issues or recovering from physical strain, whether due to sport, work, or daily life activities.

Sports therapy uses a wide range of physical techniques, which are personalised based on the individual's condition, goals, and lifestyle…these include injury preventions, assessment and diagnosis, hands on therapy including massage, soft tissue therapy, and joint mobilisation to reduce pain, improve circulation, and speed up recover. Following this a personalised rehabilitation program is provided and includes targeted exercises and mobility work to restore strength, flexibility, balance, and function.

So, whether you're a professional athlete, a weekend warrior, or someone dealing with everyday aches and pains, sports therapy offers many benefits.

Osteopathy

Osteopathy is a form of alternative therapy, which has been used since the late 1800s to help restore the body to optimum health with minimal interventions such as surgery and medicines ensuring all the systems of the body are working in harmony with each other.

Osteopathy is used to treat many conditions such as arthritis, sciatica, postural problems, back pain, joint pain, pregnancy-related issues, and circulatory problems just to name a few.

Once a diagnosis has been made and a treatment plan has been agreed with you, it is then applied via gentle hands-on techniques focusing on mobilising joints and easing tension within the muscles. Home care advice is provided including some exercises to help relieve pain and for strengthening.

Paediatric Osteopathy for babies and children

Every parent’s priority is to provide the best environment to support their child’s health as they develop and grow. Paediatric Osteopathy is an incredibly gentle, safe and effective treatment for newborn babies and children.

Babies’ skeletons are softer than adults’ so Osteopaths will use techniques such as Cranial Osteopathy when treating babies, that focus on releasing tension, improving mobility and optimising function. Cranial Osteopathy uses gentle techniques/ manipulation which could help soothe and relax your baby. The treatment of paediatrics covers newborns to teenagers and spans diverse issues.

Cranial Osteopathy

Cranial Osteopathy is a gentle yet effective form of Osteopathic treatment. It can be used to treat people of all ages and is particularly suited to treating babies and children, pregnant and post-partum women, and patients who want a gentler approach.

Cranial Osteopaths use their highly trained palpation skills to feel subtle strains and tensions that are present in the body and diagnose areas of dysfunction. Treatment can be deeply relaxing and we encourage our patients to take this opportunity to rest and unwind during treatment.
